Summary
The mechanical engineer is a key member of our product development team, reporting directly to the NPD Manager. This role involves performing professional mechanical engineering design, including:
* Mechanical design and development using 3D CAD software (Creo preferred but not mandatory).
* Adhering to mechanical engineering standards and best practices.
* Delivering innovative and optimized engineering solutions.
* Designing solutions that meet requirements within budget and deadlines.
* Maintaining high personal integrity and respectful communication.
* Challenging ideas and solutions constructively.
* Conducting structural analysis to ensure design purpose-fit.
* Designing, analyzing, optimizing, detailing, and validating new mechanical and electromechanical systems.
* Satisfying product and project requirements regarding functionality, performance, cost, quality, timing, and budget.
* Ensuring design robustness and product quality through validation testing.
* Visiting customer locations with Sales and Product Management to understand needs and concerns firsthand.
* Collaborating within cross-functional teams and communicating effectively across organizational levels.
* Learning and demonstrating Allegion values continually.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a similar discipline.
* 5+ years of relevant technical experience.
* Fluency in English (mandatory).
* Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.
