Wood is recruiting for a Project Engineer to join our Life Sciences division based in Milan, working on Pharmaceutical and Bio Tech projects across Europe and internationally. The position will be based in Corsico (Milan) office, with the possibility to work from home up to two days per week.
The Role Working as part of a multi-discipline team the Project Engineer will support the development of projects through all phases of the project life cycle from basic design through to commissioning. You will be responsible for coordination of the team to ensure deliverables are met and on track with client requirements. You will interact with the client to keep them updated on progress and to inform them of any challenges that may arise. You will also be responsible for development of some deliverables that allow you to manage directly from bidding phase up to construction completion some construction contractors or complex packages vendors. Responsibilities
Coordinate disciplines activities and control and forecast work area activities and deliverables against schedule
Work in coordination with procurement and subcontracting group as well as estimate department
Prepare erection requisition for mechanical works
Organise, contribute and prepare notes for multidiscipline meetings to affect the timely completion of the requisition
Contribute and participate in work in an enthusiastic manner, working to the requirements of quality and environmental management systems maintained to ISO standards
Qualifications
MSC degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Energy Engineering
Self‑motivation, flexibility, a proactive outlook and good communication skills
Passionate about and aptitude for mentoring, training and sharing experiences with the other engineers of the team
Ability to collaborate and work closely with a multi‑discipline team
Highly motivated, well organised, resourceful and proactive
Ability to work with technical strength with a minimum of supervision
Fluent in English and Italian
Availability to be relocated abroad at client construction sites to be engineering interface for construction contractors is essential
