The Dentist will provide oral health care, including preventive care and patient education, and perform a variety of dental procedures such as diagnostic, restorative, crown‑and‑bridge, denture, endodontic, periodontal and preventive care. The clinician will also supervise and train staff and collaborate with other health professionals. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liPerform complete oral examinations and formulate comprehensive treatment plans. /li liObtain consent from clients for treatment plans and provide hygiene instruction. /li liPerform recall exams and cooperate with the hygiene team to ensure comprehensive oral health of clients. /li liCarry out dental treatments, including diagnostic, restorative, crown‑and‑bridge, denture services, endodontic, periodontal, and preventive care. /li liExecute universal precaution procedures for infection control. /li liPrescribe antibiotics and administer local anesthetics. /li liFabricate dental prosthetic appliances individually or with the denturist. /li liConsult with other health professionals as required for diagnosis and care planning. /li liParticipate in the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of treatment, education, counseling, and health promotion services for individuals, families, and the community. /li liProvide services at outreach locations and maintain contact with physicians or other staff through telephone consultation as required by clinical protocols. /li liPerform other duties as may be assigned. /li /ul h3Requirements /h3 ul liDoctor of Dental Surgery, licensed and in good standing with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. /li liExtensive experience in a large dental practice. /li liExperience in a community dental clinic or public health environment (asset). /li liAbility to work collaboratively with clients and staff in a community clinic. /li liStrong technical, administrative, and interpersonal skills. /li liComfortable working in a values‑based organization. /li liSupervisory or leadership experience (asset). /li liLeadership and supervisory skills with individuals and interdisciplinary teams. /li liExperience with word‑processing, spreadsheet, database applications, and Abeldent software (asset). /li liInterest in community health or social services (asset). /li liExperience working in a values‑based non‑profit or social services organization. /li liAbility to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team. /li liProficiency in using computers and various software applications. /li liAbility to speak languages relevant to the residents of the Peel region (asset). /li liConsistent access to a vehicle for responsive care delivery at any care delivery location. /li /ul h3Benefits /h3 pExcellent benefits and HOOPP coverage. /p h3Application Accessibility Statement /h3 pRequests for accommodation due to disability can be made at any stage in the recruitment process.
