About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Veritas Backup Admin to join our IT Infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting Veritas backup solutions across the organization. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth backup and recovery operations and contribute to the company’s overall data protection strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Backup & Recovery Management
* Design, implement, and manage enterprise-level Veritas NetBackup solutions.
* Develop backup strategies, schedules, and policies to meet compliance and retention requirements.
* Perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery tests.
* Monitor backup jobs across on-premises, virtual, and cloud environments.
2. System Design & Implementation
* Architect scalable and efficient backup solutions using Veritas products (NetBackup, Backup Exec, etc.).
* Optimize and configure NetBackup environments for peak performance.
* Support data migration, storage optimization, and disaster recovery projects.
* Ensure solutions align with infrastructure architecture and security policies.
3. Troubleshooting & Performance Tuning
* Identify and resolve backup performance issues and failures.
* Perform root cause analysis for recovery problems and implement solutions.
* Optimize network, storage, and server components for reliable backups.
4. Automation & Monitoring
* Automate backup processes to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.
* Configure monitoring tools to proactively detect potential issues.
* Track and report performance metrics to assess the health of backup infrastructure.
5. Documentation & Reporting
* Maintain and update backup policies, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
* Provide detailed reporting on backup status, capacity planning, and recovery performance.
* Ensure documentation is audit-ready and compliant with regulations.
6. Collaboration & Support
* Work closely with storage, server, and network teams to ensure seamless backup and restore operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Proven experience with Veritas NetBackup administration and architecture.
* Strong knowledge of backup and recovery strategies for enterprise IT environments.
* Experience with troubleshooting, automation, and performance tuning.
* Familiarity with on-premises, virtual, and cloud infrastructure.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
