Job Description Summary The Disconnectors Technology Leader will be accountable for overall technology vision and product development of High Voltage Disconnectors worldwide. He will oversee all technical aspects and technological resources to meet business needs across the organization. He will manage and directs the research and development programs to meet organizational needs, supervising the development of multiple and diverse types of Disconnectors Products across various units worldwide. He will be responsible for overall technology budget for Disconnectors, taking care of distributing it across the units, based on main DSC product roadmaps directives defined together with Disconnector Product Manager. The role includes the position of Leader of R&D and customization engineering team in the Disconnector’s competence center in Venice (Italy) and customization engineering. As R&D unit leader will be responsible also of the live tank breakers development and homologation initiatives of the Italian unit. Job Description Essential Functions: Responsible for managing worldwide DSC product development and new technology introduction. Responsible for Disconnectors Technology budget management and local worldwide R&D center resources coordination. Leader of R&D and customization engineering teams in the Disconnector’s competence center in Venice (Italy) and customization engineering. Responsible of the live tank breakers industrialization, customization and homologation inside the Italian unit. Leads new product introduction, including all make/buy analysis, investment rationalization and delivery schedule, in strict collaboration with product manager. Supervise all disconnectors designs aspects from initial design, simulation and prototyping, until final testing and industrialization of product in concerned units. Responsible for product development roadmap, customer qualification and country homologation. Supporting all product localization activities and VAVE or cost-out initiatives worldwide Review all development project to ensure reliability, effectiveness and return on investment. Implement all necessary action and activate all needed resources to technical risk mitigation Contributes to the overall PT technology and product strategy Develops, deploy and implements in all DSC R&D centers worldwide the research and development procedures and techniques in accordance with GE Vernova Electrification and Power Transmission technology directives. Supervise development procedure quality assurance and implementation methodology, processes and teams in his scope of work. Work closely with ARC research center in Villeurbanne in finding new technology solutions to be applied on disconnectors. Workload definition, analysis and resources allocation Lead Technology initiatives within his product scope: Technical Regulation & Standards, Product Safety, ITC, etc. Effectively liaise with other functions on technical topics and financial aspects Support and take actions to improve technical development skills among the teams, ensuring that compliance initiatives and training requirements are implemented Facilitate and enhance the idea generation to find always new technical solution and lean approach. Maintain a regular communication pace at every level within various function of the unit and R&D team Provide timely communication on new product development and achievement, but also on whatever issue encountered during development phase of programs.
