Apache Spark and Python Data Engineer
We are searching for Python engineers with PySpark experience to join our hybrid engineering teams in Finance Data and Analytics.
Activity:
* You will join a team responsible for the data integration, complex transformations, application of business logic, modelling and serving billions of rows of structured financial data.
* The team builds on a lakehouse architecture utilizing Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Lake with Python being the main programming language.
* Our teams are at the intersection of data engineering and software engineering and apply a robust Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to all of their deliveries.
* You will build design and automatically test software that processes data through our medallion architecture.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in computer science
* Proven experience developing complex software systems as a software engineer (at least 5 years)
* Strong understanding of data engineering techniques with high level programming languages (e.G., Java, C#, or Python)
* Good core Python software engineering experience
* At least 2 years for hands on experience with Apache Spark (PySpark), developing applications using an IDE such as VS Code or PyCharm
* Experience of working with delta lake tables
* A good understanding of, and, significant experience developing software on projects using relational data models and SQL
* Preferably experience with the Azure Databricks platform
