Engine Driveline Design Engineer

In order to strengthen our Engine Design Department, we are looking to hire an Engine Driveline Design Engineer based in Maranello (Italy). You will be involved in the design and development of engine driveline components, working on high-performance solutions for Ferrari’s next-generation engines. You will be responsible for the design of key rotating parts such as crankshafts, conrods, flywheels, and the entire valvetrain, as well as for defining technical specifications for suppliers. You will collaborate closely with suppliers to define development plans, monitor key milestones, and ensure the optimization of new parts in terms of performance, weight, and cost. You will also work to maximize component transferability across all engine families and complete technical specifications in collaboration with the concept area.
In this position, you will be responsible for:
* Designing engine driveline components including crankshaft, conrods, flywheel, all rotating parts, and the entire valvetrain
* Defining technical specifications for suppliers and ensuring alignment throughout the development process
* Developing component designs from concept study to final release
* Optimizing new parts for performance, weight saving, and/or cost
* Managing supplier relationships, development plans, and monitoring key milestones and intermediate results
* Ensuring maximum transferability of components among all engine families
* Collaborating with the concept area to complete technical specifications for components and engines
In order to succeed in this challenging role, you will ideally have achieved excellent academic results with a degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. You should have proven experience in the design of driveline parts and general mechanical components. A passion for engines and continuous development solutions to achieve performance targets is essential.
In Ferrari you must exhibit the capability to work in a highly-dynamic and fast-changing environment; a positive attitude towards teamwork, strong communication skills, and accountability are important skillsets to manage activities and responsibilities of the role. Fluency in both Italian and English is mandatory.
