This position is a dual role with responsibilities for leading the EHS function for the Drug Product Division and expanded responsibilities for the Global Pharma Services Group, serving as a backup to the Vice President, EHS.
Drug Product Division responsibilities (40%) include:
* Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) functional leader for the Drug Products Division.
* Develop divisional EHS strategy, providing direction, support, and guidance to DPD facilities.
* Drive achievement of EHS Index and KPI targets, fostering continuous improvement of the EHS program.
* Promote meaningful colleague and supervisor engagement.
* Ensure site compliance with applicable EH&S regulations and Thermo Fisher Scientific policies and standards.
* Implement a system of EHS governance aligned with business priorities, supporting business goals.
EHS Risk Management:
Oversee EHS risk management for the division, developing strategies to understand and reduce EHS risks in the business.
Strategic and Operational Partnership:
Partner with the DPD leadership team on strategic initiatives and operational improvements, ensuring EHS considerations are integrated into change management processes.
Backup and Global Responsibilities:
Serve as backup for the VP of EHS for Pharma Services Group, supporting global EHS programs, systems, communication, training, and management systems in line with international standards like ISO 45001.
Additional Program Leadership:
* Lead the PSG Contractor Management Program.
* Lead the PSG Security Program, liaising with corporate security teams.
* Create and implement an EHS Supplier Management program.
Qualifications:
* B.Sc. in Life Sciences, Natural Sciences, EHS, or related discipline; equivalent experience considered.
* Professional designation such as CSP, CRSP, CIH is an asset.
Experience:
* 15+ years in health and safety in industrial or related environments.
* At least 5 years in pharmaceutical industry with management experience.
* Proven success in biosafety, industrial hygiene, risk management, and implementing management systems.
Skills:
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
* Organized, detail-oriented, proficient in MS Office.
* Excellent presentation skills and a commitment to integrity, respect, and excellence.
Additional Information:
Light physical effort required; site visits may involve exposure to elements, physical discomfort, or climbing.
Ability to travel as needed.
