DESCRIPTION OF THE ROLE
The Bags Women Designer plays a crucial role in leading the design process, translating briefs, and leveraging market trends. Collaborating closely with the Design team, they ensure the creation of original, globally appealing designs targeting key consumers. This role involves creating designs, selecting materials and colors, and ensuring smooth operational flow according to the seasonal Critical Path calendar.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
As a Bags Women Designer, that will report to Chief Bata Designer Creative Director, you will play a key role in evolving lead the design process collaboratively:
* Translate briefs and market trends into compelling products.
* Create original designs with global appeal targeting key consumers.
* Ensure smooth operational flow according to the seasonal Critical Path calendar.
* Independently design statement-level products meeting brand creative direction.
* Develop concepts, sketches, and product ideation within deadlines.
* Collaborate with the Colors and Materials team for new designs.
* Create cover sketches and technical details for development.
* Execute on long-term strategic product design direction for the brand in partnership with peers and leadership.
* Collaborate with development and Merchant teams to meet product briefs at target cost.
* Schedule and organize meetings with internal and external partners.
* Work across cross-functional teams and participate in building product strategy and innovation pipeline.
* Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest level product is successfully commercialized to the brand vision and that the line meets overall business objectives and financial goals.
REQUIREMENTS
* 5+ years of experience in bags design.
* Advanced understanding of bags construction and processes.
* Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Keynote, Keyshot, and 3D software.
* Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
* Act as a design influencer, mentor, and collaborator.
* Manage people and processes, including project workload and deadlines.
* Coach and develop direct reports, focusing on critical goals and results.
* Set style and color direction under the Design leader’s guidance.
* Contribute to seasonal inspiration planning and attend seasonal kick-off.
LANGUAGES
* Fluent in English (near-native proficiency); Spanish is a plus.

* Possibility of working in Smart Working for part of the week after an initial on-site training period
