Across every step – from integration to delivery – our people act with passion, ownership, and determination to ensure life‑saving medicines become available to patients who need them worldwide. /p h3Broad Overview /h3 pThe medical Science Liaison is responsible for supporting the safe and effective use of Company therapies, focusing on communicating complex medical and scientific information to healthcare professionals and providing field medical intelligence to internal stakeholders. The MSL has internal and external training responsibilities for Company therapies. Reporting to the Country Manager Italy, the MSL manages an assigned territory autonomously, developing and growing medical activities to achieve key objectives in Italy. /p h3As MSL Italy W/M, some of your responsibilities will include: /h3 h3Therapy training to guide the safe and effective use of the Company’s therapies /h3 ul liProactively engage HCPs providing on‑label product and procedural training of Company therapies. /li liAct as a subject matter expert, teaching medical education and internal training courses. /li liProvide product and disease‑state educational/training support to the Company Commercial and RD departments related to technical, medical and scientific information. /li liProvide refresher training to users who are not achieving desired outcomes. /li /ul h3Medical support: focus on therapies /h3 ul liBuild, maintain and manage effective peer‑to‑peer relationships with contracted external experts (EE) or Key Opinion Leaders, engaging in bi‑directional scientific/educational exchange. /li liUnderstand medical/scientific barriers that may influence patient outcomes. /li liFocus on ongoing research, newly published evidence, practice pattern changes, and alternative therapies. /li liTeach the clinical evidence story linking the totality of evidence in a non‑biased manner. /li liInform HCPs about clinical evidence and accurately communicate key evidence gaps. /li liExecute medical plans, communicating technical and clinical data supporting new products and/or new indications. /li liCreate a territory plan to identify KOLs that provide meaningful clinical insights. /li liProvide medical and scientific support for EEs speaking on Company products at medical meetings and congresses. /li liInvestigate and gather field medical intelligence/insights that might affect therapy safety/efficacy, Clinical/RD strategies and competitive activities. /li liCreate strategies to gain insights from a diverse set of stakeholders. /li liCommunicate knowledge in a simple, coherent and informative manner to internal stakeholders. /li liIdentify clinical insights and knowledge gaps and articulate the impact and magnitude of the findings. /li liProvide scientific congress support, communicating accurate information with timely follow‑up. /li liAttend key sessions, communicating knowledge in a simple, coherent and informative manner to internal stakeholders. /li /ul h3Develops and executes on KOL engagement plan at congresses /h3 ul liIdentify local medical and patient needs, defining and executing local Medical Plans aligned with the individual country and corporate strategy. /li liInteract with Medical Societies and answer the medical/scientific queries of Medical Societies with regards to assigned Company products. /li liCoordinate, plan Scientific Educational activities, advisory boards with KOLs within the assigned therapeutic area or Company products. /li liSubmit timely reports of field interactions and events as well as track activities against agreed KPIs and region medical activity plan. /li liProvide assistance to Commercial team and Market Access; support presentations of new information to hospital formularies and reimbursement decision makers as required. /li liApply exceptional literature research and curator skills directly addressing medical information requests from HCPs. /li liProvide thoughtful and medically sound assessments in a timely manner. /li liUse medical information to appropriately build KOL relationships and deliver medical insights to the business. /li /ul h3Research support: Focus on Therapies /h3 ul liAssist the Company’s Clinical Development department with company‑sponsored clinical trials, focusing on site identification, site initiation, protocol education, and ongoing support. /li liIdentify key issues accelerating or inhibiting patient recruitment, quality data collection or patient retention. /li liRecommend research sites that can deliver patient enrollment and quality data. /li liSupport principal investigators and provide up‑to‑date information that may improve patient recruitment and/or data quality, providing medical insights and updates on key findings affecting study performance. /li liThrough scientific exchange, discover novel investigator‑initiated (IIS) ideas. /li liClearly articulate the Company’s strategic interest and fully understand how a concept fits within the strategy. /li liFully appreciate novel ideas that could significantly impact patient care. /li liSupport investigator‑initiated research/program by discovering and championing innovative ideas, facilitating study start‑up and providing ongoing consultation. /li liProvide quarterly updates to senior leadership on study progress and medical/scientific insights. /li liInform Company leaders of major milestone accomplishments. /li liEnsure that all interactions and engagements are carried out with the highest ethical and professional standards and that all work is accomplished with quality and in accordance with Company Values. /li /ul h3To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate /h3 h3Technical Skills /h3 ul liScientific clinical research knowledge. /li liAbility to extract insight from clinical data. /li liDemonstrated scientific and medical acumen, preferably with a publication record. /li liClinical acumen, preferably having clinical patient experience or healthcare experience working in a complex healthcare delivery system. /li liDemonstrated ability to master new therapeutic areas. /li liStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office software and web‑based customer and clinical support tools. /li liFluent in Italian and English. /li /ul h3Soft skills /h3 ul liOutstanding interpersonal consultative skills. /li liExcellent presentation and platform skills. /li liDesire for self‑motivated continuous scientific, technical and medical learning. /li liStrong teaching acumen with focus on practical learning. /li liAbility to manage and prioritize workload, multi‑task and manage a diverse mix of issues, responsibilities and challenges. /li liAbility to creatively address problems in an organized systematic way. /li liWillingness and ability to work within and outside of traditional business hours. /li liCollaborative style, responsive, considerate, flexible, assertive and personable. /li /ul h3Education and experiences /h3 ul liUniversity degree in life science (Medicine, Pharmacy or nursing – Masters or above). /li li5 to 8 years expertise within the Pharmaceuticals/Life Sciences industry, preferably as an MSL. /li liStrong knowledge and introduction to the Italian medical organization, hospitals and scientific societies. /li liStrong knowledge of Italian Onco/Hematology organization and stakeholders – key for this position. /li /ul h3Location /h3 ul liIdeally based in Central Italy (Roma, Firenze). /li liBusiness travels on a weekly basis in Italy, and occasionally across Europe for major congresses. /li /ul pbSerb Pharmaceuticals is an equal opportunity employer.
