VP of Operations

Purpose:
To make sure that business and financial affairs of MissionNext are conducted in a God-honoring manner, and that Leadership has access to information necessary to make informed strategic and tactical decisions.

Key Duties: Oversee all financial matters relating to the ministry; Prepare and analyze reports as necessary for MissionNext Leadership and Board of Directors; Manage budgeting, payroll, supply purchasing, insurance processes; Official organizational and internal document control; Ensure compliance with all IRS, ECFA and State requirements; Arrange for and participate in the annual CPA review of financial information and operations; Manage bookkeeping and other Team Members as assigned.
Team Interaction:
1. Maintains a Christ-like interactive relationship with other MN staff members.
2. Reports to the CEO
External Communication:
Manage relationships with external auditor and applicable organizations related to MissionNext finances
Planning:
Guides the budget process each fall for the following year
Logistics:
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Education:
College Degree or equivalent experience
Experience:
Business Management, financial management and reporting.
Requirements:
1. Christ-follower, personable, good communication and people skills, dependent on prayer, spiritually mature, financial understanding, and ability to travel.
2. Experience with, or willingness to learn basic use of various software platforms as appropriate. For example: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint), Office 365, virtual communications tools (GoToMeeting, Free Conference Calls, Constant Contact bulk email programs, and customer relationship management (CRM) tools.
3. There is no office space for this position; incumbent will work from home using his/her own computer and high-speed internet. There may be little in-person contact, and day-to-day contact is via email, telephone and video conferencing.
4. This is a self-supporting position. Approved ministry expenses may be reimbursed.
Preferences:
1. Experience with non-profit financial and fund accounting principles
2. Experience with filing IRS 990 reports or similar
3. Experience with 'Sage 50 Fund Accounting' software and 'Giftworks' fundraising and donor software, or similar
4. Due to virtual teamwork nature, must be a self-starter, willing to stay on task without regular face-to-face interaction.
5. Good communicator with solid knowledge and practice of email ethics (responding quickly, etc.).
6. Good team member skills.
7. Understanding of biblical principles regarding relationships, conflict resolution, etc.
8. Knowledge of missions and MissionNext products, Forums and Journey Deepens events.
