The project:
Terra Innovatum's mission is to make nuclear power accessible. We deliver simple and safe micro-reactor solutions that are scalable, affordable and deployable anywhere 1 Mwe at a time.
You will be joining a fast-growing scaleup developing SOLO – a micro modular reactor – able to provide clean energy and radioisotopes where it is needed. You will be supporting the reactor licensing process in the US at first.
You will support the founding team to scaleup to a leading tech company supplying much needed energy solutions globally.
This is a unique opportunity to join a high performance team developing a global energy solutions leader.
What you will be working on
Terra Innovatum Civil Engineer and Layout Architect will be:
* designing, analyzing, and maintaining the structural integrity and safety of nuclear power plants, research facilities, and other nuclear-related infrastructure
* ensuring compliance with strict regulatory codes, performing structural assessments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support plant construction, maintenance, and upgrades
Potential next steps
As the company is growing fast and plans international expansion in 2026, the right candidate will be considered for regional and/or global responsibility.
What you will be in charge of:
* Designing and analyzing structural components for nuclear power plants, including containment buildings, cooling towers, and support structures.
* Ensuring compliance with NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission) regulations, ASME BPVC, ACI (American Concrete Institute), and other industry standards.
* Performing structural load calculations, seismic analysis, and stress assessments for nuclear infrastructure.
* Overseeing construction projects, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, design specifications, and regulatory requirements.
* Conducting inspections, failure analysis, and maintenance assessments on existing nuclear structures.
* Collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems engineers to integrate structural components with plant operations.
* Assisting in licensing and regulatory documentation for nuclear facility design approvals.
* Supporting plant modifications, retrofits, and decommissioning projects to meet evolving safety and operational standards.
* Utilizing civil engineering software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ANSYS) for structural modeling and analysis.
* Providing technical expertise and guidance to project teams, contractors, and plant operators.
Who we want to work with:
* Education: Master degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
