Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Security Manager role based at San Clemente Palace Venice in Venice. The Security Manager oversees day-to-day security operations, including monitoring access control, patrolling the property, and coordinating response to incidents, emergencies, and alarms. This role develops and implements security policies and procedures, conducts risk assessments, and ensures compliance with relevant regulations and hotel standards. The Security Manager leads and trains the security team, manages schedules, and collaborates with other departments to support safe guest experiences, secure events, and protection of assets. The position also works with external agencies and vendors as needed, prepares incident reports, and provides regular updates to hotel leadership on security performance and improvement plans.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated expertise in Physical Security and Security Management, including access control, surveillance, and incident response.
* Working knowledge of Information Security, Cybersecurity, and Network Security principles sufficient to coordinate with IT and protect critical systems.
* Proven experience in a security leadership role, ideally within hospitality, luxury hotels, or similarly guest-focused environments.
* Strong skills in risk assessment, emergency preparedness, crisis management, and development of security policies and procedures.
* Ability to lead, coach, and motivate a diverse security team; effective at scheduling, delegation, and performance oversight.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports and interact confidently with guests, colleagues, and external authorities.
* High level of integrity, discretion, and sound judgment in handling sensitive information and confidential matters.
* Familiarity with local safety and security regulations, health and safety standards, and relevant compliance requirements.
* Proficiency with common security technologies (CCTV, access control systems, incident reporting tools) and basic office software.
* Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, as operational needs require.
* Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP, CISSP, or similar) are an advantage.
* Associate or bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
* Fluency in Italian and English.
