Vehicle Engineer position at Hitachi Rail S.p.A. located in Pistoia, Tuscany, Italy. Tempo pieno, not remote.

Accountabilities
- Support and coordinate bid and project development of technical design of system
- Define conceptual solution of equipment integration on vehicles
- Prepare system requirement specifications of a mechanical system
- Analyze suppliers' technical proposals
- Check technical description of the system
- Verify drawings/documents (Electrical, Mechanical, etc.) for installation/integration on board
- Check FEM analysis report
- Analyze tolerance concept & integration
- Prepare/verify performance test specification
- Support during system type tests
- Support during the on‑board integration test
- Conduct design review with clients and suppliers
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- At least 3 years experience in the railway or mechanical industry as Vehicle Engineer or mechanical integrator
- Good knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schemes, bolted and riveted connections
- Basic knowledge of electrics and mechanics
- Proficiency with office software (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Proficiency with mechanical design software (AutoCAD, Creo, CATIA, etc.) and IBM DOORS
- Knowledge of engineering processes and railway operations
- Ability to work effectively with all organization levels and provide constructive ideas
- Readiness to work in a collaborative, fast‑paced, multitasking international environment
- Ability to work autonomously in teams and on projects
- Availability for short‑term national and international business trips

Education & Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical background.
Languages
Good knowledge of written and spoken English is mandatory. English language knowledge at least International B2 level.
