You will be principally working with marine electrical/automation/electronic aspects for existing or new construction merchant ships but there will be opportunities to be involved with other ship types and offshore projects in line with business needs. /em /liliemConducting approval of electrical and control equipment and components against various statutory codes and Class Rules. Carrying out Type Approval activity for electrical and control equipment. /em /liliemTo build and maintain a good relationship with our clients and internal stakeholders. /em /liliemProviding specialist technical advice to internal and external clients globally at a senior level, which will include designers, shipyards and other LR surveyors and specialists. /em /liliemContributing to Rule Development Projects and Proposals if required to ensure our Rules remain up to date and in line with the latest industry innovations. /em /liliemContribute to the bid and win processes for new projects by accurately estimating time requirements and developing scopes of work. /em /liliemProduce the required deliverables within the agreed broad parameters in a defined format and review other employee’s work where requested. /em /liliemActively seeking to ensure client satisfaction and to generate new opportunities with our clients. /em /liliemConduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards. /em /liliemThe above job description does not preclude the assignment of other duties by the Global Electrical Control Discipline Manager or the line manager. /em /li /ulpembWhat you bring /b /em /pulliemThe candidate should have a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic/Telecommunication Engineering, Marine Engineering or equivalent from a tertiary organisation recognised by Lloyd’s Register. /em /liliem2-3 years of relevant experience working with electrical and control designs and the application of Class Rules to the design and construction of ships. Experience in application of Class Rules to offshore or large naval auxiliaries is advantageous. Candidates with lesser experience can also be considered however at a lower position. /em /liliemMembership of an appropriate professional institution. /em /liliemChartered or Incorporated Engineer status. /em /liliemCan work both independently and as part of a team, to prioritize work and meet LR and Clients’ deadlines, and to work effectively under pressure. /em /liliemProficiency in the English Language (written and oral) commensurate with the work and an ability to write detailed technical reports and design appraisal documents. /em /liliemIt is preferable that the individual should understand the responsibilities of a Classification Society, and the interface between Class Rules and Statutory Regulations. /em /li /ulpembYou are someone who: /b /em /pulliemIs keen to take accountability and ownership for delivering customer needs. /em /liliemCan self-manage and prioritize tasks towards achieving goals. /em /liliemIs effective at solving problems, troubleshooting and making timely decisions. /em /liliemIs flexible and eager to take initiatives. /em /liliemCommunicates in a structured way and has ability to present technical ideas in user-friendly language. /em /liliemDisplays a team spirit, particularly in a multicultural environment. /em /liliemResponds positively to learning opportunities and is comfortable stepping out of own comfort zone. /em /li /ul #J-18808-Ljbffr
