PpJoin to apply for the bSenior CAD Design Engineer /b role at bThe Exploration Company /b /ppHere at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run. /ppWe want you as a talented Senior CAD Designer to help us in our mission by modelling the physical architecture of our spacecraft. /ppYou will be successful in this role if you are able to help us: /pulliTo contribute to the definition of our overall vehicle architecture /liliTo contribute to the detailed definition of our vehicle /liliTo contribute to the certification of our vehicle /li /ulh3Key Responsibilities /h3ulliTo build the CAD physical models of the vehicle and their sub-systems on Siemens NX and contribute to the choices in terms of overall architecture, aeroshape, equipment accommodation and main materials /liliTo maturate the CAD models by adjusting the architecture, accommodation, structure materials and thicknesses based on the outcomes of the thermo-mechanical computation loops and system trade-offs /liliTo collaborate closely with thermal and structural analysts, materials and manufacturing engineers to ensure compliance of the physical architecture with the mission environments and manufacturing constraints /liliTo ensure the configuration management of the CAD models /liliTo manage the vehicle structure mass budget, aided by the CAD model, and track it in the overall system database /liliTo contribute to co-engineering sessions with the other disciplines, by sharing guidelines or orders of magnitude in order to converge on the feasibility of a solution, based on engineering feeling or simplified analytical approach /liliTo define the volume allocations and clearances specifications towards the vehicle sub systems /liliTo contribute to the improvement of CAD tools and processes /liliTo effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation, and presentation of technical data /liliTo provide technical documentation drawings and participate to reviews of designed systems /liliTo interact with space agencies and ensure support towards the flight certification of the vehicle /liliTo contribute to the validation and verification of the requirements /li /ulh3Qualifications /h3ulliAn advanced degree in mechanical, aerospace or manufacturing engineering /liliMinimum of 7 years of experience as a CAD Design Engineer /liliStrong experience with Siemens NX CAD tool /liliStrong knowledge of aerospace vehicle design and associated challenges /liliStrong understanding of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and industry standards /liliGood understanding of the spacecraft certification process /liliExperience in Composite design is a plus /liliExperience with finite element analysis (FEA) is a plus /liliFluent in English.
