Functional Safety Engineer - ECU / Digital Power
We are seeking a Functional Safety Engineer to join our team at Pisa Research Center, focusing on digital energy and electric vehicle technologies. This role involves supporting the design, analysis, and safety assessment of software within automotive and digital energy domains.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and enhance functional safety solutions for real-time embedded software.
* Define safety concepts for software architecture and validate real-time software and toolchains.
* Perform safety analyses on embedded software systems.
* Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 standards.
* Collaborate with academic and research institutions.
* Develop safety plans, oversee safety processes, and ensure safety compliance as a Safety Manager.
Requirements:
* M.Sc in Engineering or Computer Science (PhD preferred).
* Experience in safety-related project management.
* Knowledge of ISO 26262 (parts 6, 8, 9, 11 preferred).
* Experience with safety concepts, ECU architectures, and embedded software design.
* Understanding of microcontrollers/processors.
* Proficiency in embedded software development (C, Assembly).
* Excellent communication skills and team orientation.
* Fluency in English; willingness to travel in Europe and China.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Hands-on safety analysis experience (HARA, FMEA, FMEDA, FTA).
* Experience with model-based development tools (Eclipse, Java, Acceleo).
* Knowledge of IEC 61508, VHDL, AUTOSAR, A-SPICE, POSIX RTOS.
* Experience in automotive safety applications.
