Role Description
We are looking for a Natural Rubber Lead Buyer with global responsibility for Natural Rubber sourcing, strategy and operational governance across all Prometeon regions.
The role owns the end-to-end Natural Rubber value chain, combining strategic commodity leadership, market intelligence and hands-on execution, while working closely with Planning, Logistics, R&D, Quality and Regional Procurement teams.
Key Responsibilities
Global Strategy & Market Intelligence
- Define and execute the global Natural Rubber category strategy
- Lead market intelligence on supply/demand dynamics, futures markets, rubber boards, geopolitical and climatic risks
- Optimize sourcing between Long Term Contracts and planned spot purchases
Supplier & Contract Management
- Act as global reference point for NR suppliers across Asia and Africa, with strategic oversight on South America
- Lead supplier scouting, qualification, performance management and sustainability audits (EUDR, ESG)
- Negotiate and govern long-term contracts and spot agreements, including pricing formulas and Incoterms
- Ensure correct implementation of Global Master Agreements across regions
Operations & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Own NR operational allocation: volumes, shipments, spot execution, cost & freight analysis
- Coordinate closely with Planning, Inbound Logistics and Regional Procurement
- Lead cross-functional reviews with R&D, Quality and Sustainability
- Drive risk mitigation, supplier diversification and alternative sourcing strategies
Digitalization & Governance
- Support digitalization xdwybme and SAP S/4HANA migration
- Develop dashboards, KPIs, cost driver analysis and commodity impact tracking
- Act as functional reference and mentor for NR buyers and logistics teams globally
Requirements:
- Solid knowledge of Natural Rubber markets, grades and global supply chains
- Proven experience in commodity sourcing, long-term contracts and spot markets
- Strong negotiation, stakeholder management and analytical skills
- Comfortable operating in a global, complex and high-risk sourcing environment
- High digital proficiency (ERP, dashboards, Office 365)
- Education: Bachelor's degree required | MBA preferred
