The Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy of financial data, and assisting the team during monthly closing. This role works closely with the Finance & Accounting Department as well as outlet teams to maintain proper documentation, transaction recording, and timely reporting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Accounting Operations
Record and input daily financial transactions into the accounting system.
Verify and check accuracy of daily sales reports from outlets.
Process and validate purchase invoices, petty cash, and payment requests.
2. Reconciliation & Verification
Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliation.
Reconcile petty cash, sales, and other operational transactions.
Ensure all supporting documents are complete, accurate, and properly filed.
3. Reporting
Assist in preparing monthly financial reports.
Support the monthly and annual closing process.
Provide necessary data to the Senior Accountant or Finance Manager when required.
4. Documentation & Compliance
Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting records.
Ensure compliance with internal SOP and basic accounting principles.
Support internal audits and document checks when needed.
5. Coordination & Support
Coordinate with outlet teams regarding daily sales, petty cash, and invoice submissions.
Support the Finance & Accounting team in administrative and operational tasks.
Assist in processing vendor payments and reconciliation.
Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals (COA, journal entries, reconciliation).
Experience with accounting software or ERP (Xero is a plus).
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work under deadlines.
Good communication skills and able to work in a team.
Fresh graduates are welcome; experience in accounting is an advantage.
