Role Overview
The Strategy & Market Intelligence Specialist plays a pivotal role in shaping the company’s strategic direction by providing high‑quality insights, competitive analysis, and market assessments. Operating at the intersection of strategy, commercial planning, and consumer understanding, this role supports senior leadership in making data‑driven decisions that accelerate growth in a fast‑moving consumer goods environment. The role will report to the Head of Strategy and Market Intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct deep analyses of market trends, category dynamics, consumer behavior, and competitive landscapes
Support strategic planning, long‑term growth initiatives, and business case development
Identify new market and growth opportunities, including white spaces and country/segment expansion
Build and manage a structured market intelligence and competitive monitoring framework
Track competitor activity, SKU performance, and early indicators of risks and opportunities
Manage external data sources and translate complex data into actionable insights
Develop dashboards and recurring reports to track performance, market share, and KPIs
Partner with Finance, Sales, Marketing, Innovation, and Supply Chain on strategic initiatives
Contribute market and consumer insights to the innovation pipeline
Prepare clear, data‑driven insights and strategic presentations for senior management and stakeholders
Your Profile
Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field
2–3 years in top‑tier strategic consulting (Consultant level) with strong FMCG exposure, or 5–6 years in the strategy, market intelligence, category management team of a leading FMCG company
Familiarity with syndicated data sources (RetailScan Data, Consumer Panel Data, Brand funnel data, etc.)
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex datasets
Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to turn data into clear insights
Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Power BI highly appreciated
Strategic thinker with solid business acumen and a proactive, problem‑solving approach
Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Curious, resourceful, and comfortable challenging assumptions
Collaborative team player
Excellent command of English; additional German and/or Italian skills are highly beneficial
