2026 Engineering Operations Intern, Data Center Engineering Operations Job ID: 3125283 | Amazon Data Services Italy S.R.L. - D08 We are looking for an intern to work in an Amazon Data Center providing technical support, risk management, preventive and corrective maintenance of critical facility infrastructure, vendor management, and metrics reporting. The internship will begin in May 2026, last 12 consecutive weeks, and requires full‑time hours (40 hours per week). Candidates must have access to personal transport. Key Job Responsibilities
Maintain mechanical and electrical equipment. Assist root cause analysis of equipment failures. Help troubleshoot facility and rack‑level events within internal service level agreements. Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment. Utilize the internal CMMS to manage building workflows. Interact with third‑party vendors and contractors on site. Power up newly deployed racks. Ensure all safety procedures are followed while performing work. Plan maintenance work and write or review procedures.
Core Technical Knowledge Required
Power distribution, main and backup power flow, power redundancy, basic UPS system knowledge. HVAC/Cooling – cooling systems, hot/cold aisle design, PUE. Fire suppression systems. Generators.
A Few Daily Tasks

Basic Qualifications
Enrolled in or have obtained a Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related field. Or have obtained certification from a technical/trade school program (HVAC, electrician, facilities maintenance, or similar). English language level B2 or higher. Ability to work well in a team environment and demonstrate strong time‑management skills. Own personal transport.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in program or project management. Knowledge of mechanical systems (mechanical, HVAC systems, controls).
