About the Role
Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation, is looking for a Firmware Engineer to join our team in Conselve (PD), Italy. This role is responsible for developing software for integrated industrial automation systems (such as chillers, CRAC, CRAH) and participating in all project phases: design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of existing solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop software for industrial automation systems.
* Collaborate with automation engineers, electrical designers, and customers to understand plant or machine requirements.
* Program PLCs using languages such as Ladder Diagram (LD), Structured Text (ST), and Function Block Diagram (FBD).
* Select and configure PLCs, I/O modules, sensors, actuators, HMIs (in C/Python), and industrial networks (e.g., Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP).
* Simulate and test software in virtual environments or on test benches to ensure proper functionality.
* Prepare technical documentation, including operating instructions and logic descriptions.
* Support production areas in case of software-related issues.
* Collaborate with service teams to maximize customer satisfaction by identifying containment actions for software malfunctions or implementing new on-site customer requests.
Qualifications & Skills
* Degree in Electronics, Automation, or Information Engineering (preferred).
* 3 years of experience in the cooling or industrial automation sector (preferred).
* Good knowledge of C and Python programming languages.
* Familiarity with PLCs and industrial communication protocols.
* Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Willingness to grow within a solid international organization.
* Excellent command of the English language.
