Join us in redefining the boundaries of what's possible!Your roleThe job activities will be carried out within the R&D; Department. The intern will support the R&D; team in the characterization and evaluation of plastic materials. The role includes laboratory testing, data analysis, and the development of a structured materials database.

The intern will also contribute to preliminary technical feasibility assessments, providing analytical and documentation support to ongoing R&D; projects.Main ResponsibilitiesPlastic material characterization and testing: experimental characterization of materials; active support on test specimen production; analyze and interpret laboratory test results.Material database development: Collect, validate, and organize material data from laboratory tests, suppliers, and technical data sheets; ensure proper data traceability and compliance with internal R&D; procedures.Technical support for feasibility studies: assist in technical evaluations of new materials for specific product applications; provide technical summaries to support decision-making in early-stage development.Delivery of project milestones to internal and external stakeholders.Main RequirementsEducational Background in Materials engineering, Material science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering0-1 years of work experienceStrong knowledge of polymer science and plastic materials propertiesUnderstanding of injection molding processes and material behaviorFamiliarity with laboratory testing methods for mechanical, thermal and physical characterization (i.e., tensile testing, DSC, TGA, DMA...)Hands-on experience with plastic material processing technologies and machinery (e.g., injection molding, extrusion, compounding) is a plusStrong problem solving skillsSolid experience with Microsoft Office SuiteComfortable working within an industrial/manufacturing environmentYou are fluent in English and ItalianWhat's In It For YouIn Essilor Luxottica, you are not defined just by your job title.
