Job Summary The Structural Designer performs assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering skills. Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
Using prescribed methods, a Structural Designer performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. A Structural Designer applies standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Structural calculations as directed
Plan layout and detail development as directed
Develop working knowledge of analysis and plan production software (AutoCAD/Revit)
Approval drawing review
Very limited client communication as directed
Gradual evolution to the design and drawing assembly for complete buildings of moderate scale

Education And Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum or equivalent plus appropriate continuing education
Registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is preferred, but not required
Member of professional and technical societies (associate grade or equivalent)
The salary range for this position is $70,000-$100,000 annually. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and work location.
