PpJob ID: | Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC /p pAmazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low‑latency, high‑speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. /p h3Key job responsibilities /h3 pThis is a unique opportunity to assist in the development of a global broadband communication system. /p pAs a Regulatory Engineer, you will: /p ul liWork on complex regulatory projects dealing with satellite and spectrum regulations. /li liCollaborate with a global team of public policy and legal experts to develop regulatory and policy advocacy strategies. /li liPartner with the global licensing team to develop satellite and earth station license applications, and produce technical analyses in support of those applications. /li liDevelop detailed analysis and simulation products and strategies to enable Amazon Leo’s use of radio frequency spectrum and satellite orbits. /li liWork closely with satellite and system design teams to conduct system design trade studies, and to ensure the Amazon Leo technology and regulatory roadmaps are aligned. /li /ul pThe ideal candidate has foundational knowledge of communications satellite architectures, link budgets, orbital dynamics, the ITU Radio Regulations and U.S. satellite regulations. Additionally, the candidate must have the ability to effectively communicate solutions to complex technical problems. /p pExport Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. /p h3About the team /h3 pThe Global Regulatory Affairs team is responsible for enabling and protecting Amazon Leo’s use of radio frequency spectrum throughout the world. The Regulatory Analysis and Systems Engineering Team uses a data-driven approach to develop strategies for regulatory and policy advocacy and to guide the Amazon Leo system’s use of RF spectrum. The team analyzes system performance, including how it is affected by RF interference, and works in close collaboration with design teams to optimize the satellite architecture and meet regulatory obligations. /p h3Basic Qualifications /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree in science, engineering, math or related discipline, or equivalent work experience. /li liStrong analytical, problem solving and communication skills. /li liStrong project management skills. /li li2+ years of experience in satellite communications, telecommunications, and/or radio frequency management. /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul li5+ years experience performing data or system analysis using Python and/or MATLAB. /li li5+ years experience analyzing satellite communications systems in non-geostationary orbit. /li li5+ years experience developing link budgets, analyzing the potential for harmful interference, and optimizing RF system performance. /li liExperience in the application of the international Radio Regulations and U.S. satellite regulations. /li /ul pAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. /p pOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
