The Application Consultant (Permanent) is responsible for delivering first‑class technical application support and training, performing demonstrations of Leica Biosystems instruments and reagents, and promoting and selling the LBS product portfolio. This permanent role is based primarily in the Lombardy region with a preferred location in Milan. It will be fully remote and require up to 80 % of the working time on the field. The consultant will be part of the Italian Application Consultant team and report to the SEM Advanced Diagnostics & Application Support & Application Consultant Manager responsible for application support for AS and CH product groups in Lombardy Area, with possible travel to other Italian regions. Major Responsibilities
Support customers throughout the entire customer journey while growing core reagent and product sales through market intelligence. Provide application support and training of Leica Biosystems instruments to customers in the defined territory, ensuring maximum “uptime” through optimization of reagents and systems, and thereby preserving customers to generate reagent order intake. Partner with the local Leica Biosystems team to provide optimal customer support, write technical documentation for tender responses, and drive sales growth and margin. Assist in increasing market share through effective promotion and selling efforts and defend achieved market share against competition. Support the Account Manager during promotion of Leica Biosystems products and conduct instrument demonstrations at customer laboratories. Provide application support, with commercial awareness, to customers as required, including in‑field troubleshooting of application problems and diagnosing rudimentary hardware and software failures. Support Customer Care and Tender Office in drafting technical papers and coding products to be supplied for tenders.
Essential Requirements
Good communication skills – able to make presentations in front of different audiences and stakeholders, hold a training class, and demonstrate commercial awareness with an ability to support sales initiatives and customer interactions. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Science, or a related field. Language: Fluent in Italian and English. Experience: Scientific background with a good understanding of diagnostic equipment and reagents. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in the role, in the field of anatomical pathology, and in multinational companies or pathology laboratory work environments.
