Your life on board
As an HVAC Technician, you'll ensure the safe and efficient operation of both the refrigeration and ventilation systems on board. You'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and monitoring HVAC and refrigeration equipment, contributing to the comfort and safety of guests and crew.

Get things right:
Refrigeration
- Maintain and repair the provisions refrigerating plant and refrigerated catering equipment.
- Monitor storage temperatures and calibrate thermometers in chilled and freezer rooms.
- Handle refrigerant leakages and ensure proper documentation and corrective actions.
- Maintain ice machines and beverage dispensing systems.
- Perform inventory checks and ensure data quality in spare parts procurement.
Ventilation
- Operate and maintain the air conditioning system across all vessel compartments.
- Conduct planned maintenance on air ducts, fans, and fire dampers.
- Inspect engine room ventilation and cabin fan outlets.
- Maintain records and support compliance with GLOBAL-HESS, PMS, and USPH standards.
Safety First
- You'll actively support a safe and healthy onboard environment.
- You'll follow HESS regulations and health protocols, reporting any violations.
- You'll assist in safety duties as directed by the HVAC Engineer and other superiors.
What makes you unique
- You hold a secondary school diploma and a mechanical education background.
- You have a diploma in Reefer/HVAC maintenance/service and certification to operate with refrigerants.
- You have at least 2 years of experience as a refrigeration and HVAC technician on passenger ships or ferries.
- You're skilled in faultfinding, repairs, and reading technical diagrams and manuals.
- You have a B2 level of English; knowledge of another language is a plus.
