This position involves leading teams in hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair and includes participation in an on‑call rotation. /p pAWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion. /p h3Key job responsibilities /h3 ul liPrioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators /li liManage the performance of a diverse team(s) of data center operation professionals with varying skills across different locations /li liDevelop Career Paths for the employees and to make updates in our internal tools /li liRecruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels /li liEnsure effective and efficient management of day‑to‑day data center operations including queue management, 7/24 shift arrangement and hardware logistics /li liFast learn or act as the subject matter expert across all aspects in data center operations /li liEnsure all operational KPIs and metrics are being measured and met /li liInspire and guide improvement in team process, technology innovation and automation /li liManage Large Scale Events (outages) and act as the call leader /li liManage and improve the work‑flows and throughput for data center operations /li liRecommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and required SLAs /li liMaintain the on‑call schedule coordinating absence and vacations /li liBe passionate about the quality and quantity of services being provided, and continuously strive to improve our Customer Experience /li /ul pThis role supports data centers in various operational stages. The position may be assigned to a facility still under development, which could require travel to established locations for training until your designated site becomes fully operational. /p h3Essential Requirements /h3 ul liAbility to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed /li liWillingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until assigned facility is operational /li liTravel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of assigned facility /li liCandidates must be able to travel (over 50 miles) or commute (less than 50 miles) to active data center sites as required by business needs /li /ul h3Basic Qualifications /h3 ul li4+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience, or Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent /li li2+ years of people management experience /li li2+ years of operations and on‑call support for data center facilities, mission critical plants, or production facilities experience /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul li2+ years of computer hardware experience, including troubleshooting and repairing experience /li liExperience in technical writing in a relevant field /li liCertification in an applicable field like A+, Net+, Sec+, CCNA, LPIC, Linux+, AWS certification, or A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+ /li liExperience with system management tools and client/server environments /li /ul h3About the team /h3 pDiverse Experiences AWS values diverse experiences. The base pay for this position ranges from $70,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $158,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
