The Field Engineer (FE) provides functions associated with the installation, modification and ongoing service to a range of Carestream and third-party equipment in accordance with Field Procedures. On occasion, the person will also provide on-site training to customers on operating and maintenance tasks.
The person´s focus area will be to work with:
Digital Radiography (DR), Computed Radiography (CR) and Printers (DO) modalities and DR, CR, DO installations including responsibility for DR, CR & DO installation projects and the preventative maintenance.
The FE will be trained on all Carestream products.
Responsibilities:
• Provides service support and guidance to customers on Carestream and OEM (Order Equipment Manufacturer) install base. Builds strong, professional customer relationships.
• Delivers precise and punctual reporting of paperwork to Carestream and OEMs.
• Provides Problem Management to ensure the thorough resolution of Customer issues. Follows logical troubleshooting steps, in accordance with approved service procedures, through to problem resolution.
• Demonstrates commitment to customer delight and exceeding customer’s expectations.
• Monitors and drives equipment performance. Highlights problem equipment and develops action plan in conjunction with local and Regional specialists.
• Works with Sales and Service Sales Specialists to keep up to date with new developments.
• Accurately maintains and monitors parts inventory in line with current directives.
• Ensures Service call activities are maximized in conjunction with cost control (return visits, same day fix, call duration).
• Takes responsibility for communicating effectively with the customer on service call progress.
• Undertakes or identifies projects that have a positive impact on the business.
• Has a proactive approach on issues that might arise.
• Is willing to establish effective relationships and collaborations within service and with other departments within Carestream to address key business issues and opportunities.

Skills and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree from Polytechnic University or equivalent education/previous experience.
• Previous practical experience within electrical and mechanical area.
• Previous practical work experience from large systems installations and maintenance is a benefit.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Basic Microsoft Windows platforms knowledge.
• Basic PC software knowledge
• Previous experience from hospital environment
• Previous knowledge and understanding of digital X-ray equipment
