We are looking for a System Engineer on behalf of and in support to our client for their location in Rome or Milan, Italy. The selected candidate should demonstrate integrity and professionalism.
You will join a team of system engineers, bringing your experience in leading and driving satellite activities throughout the entire project lifecycle, including design, development, integration, verification, launch, and in-orbit operations. You could be involved in either the early phases (0-B1) or the consolidation and delivery phases (B2-E), for both new developments and recurring projects based on OHB Italia product lines. Typical applications include Earth observation for both commercial and institutional customers.
Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Additionally, they will undergo a security screening conducted by an external provider (further details will be provided at the interview stage).
The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Leading the development and qualification of small satellites
* Defining satellite requirements for optical and radar Earth-observation missions
* Performing satellite functional analysis and trade-offs
* Managing satellite internal and external interfaces
* Planning activities in detail
* Supporting satellite verification and AIT activities
* Participating in launch campaigns

Minimum requirements include:
* Master’s, PhD, or equivalent education
* At least 3 years of hands-on experience
* Strong knowledge of satellite systems engineering, including requirements engineering, functional analysis, and verification control
* Knowledge of optical and/or radar payloads and missions
* Previous experience with commercial and institutional customers
* Experience in various satellite engineering domains (e.g., Electronics, Structure, Software)
* Experience in satellite verification, including participation in AIT campaigns
* Excellent sense of responsibility
* Structured, hands-on work approach
* Highly self-motivated and able to work autonomously
* Excellent problem-solving skills
* Good interpersonal skills

* Fluent in English, both written and spoken
