Overview
AWS Canada drives adoption of the AWS cloud across Enterprise customers, enabling organizations to innovate and transform their business. This Solutions Architect role serves as a trusted technical advisor, helping customers design and build scalable, secure, and innovative cloud solutions by working backward from their business challenges.
Key Responsibilities
* Design scalable, secure cloud architectures to support migration, modernization, and the development of cloud‑native and AI‑driven solutions.
* Serve as a trusted technical advisor and customer advocate, identifying opportunities and risks in technical decisions while proactively anticipating evolving needs.
* Translate customer requirements into technical solutions and communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.
* Develop and deliver technical content such as workshops, prototypes, and presentations, and speak at events to help customers evaluate and adopt new technologies.
* Lead technical discussions, whiteboarding sessions, and proof‑of‑concept activities to guide customer decision‑making and drive innovation.
* Contribute to organizational growth by providing product feedback to AWS engineering teams, participating in recruiting and interviewing, and mentoring teammates.

Basic Qualifications
* 4+ years of domain experience in software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics, or related areas.
* Experience understanding business and customer needs and translating them into effective solutions.
* Experience explaining complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
* 3–5 years in solutions architecture, technical advisory, or a similar customer‑facing role.
* Experience designing and implementing Well‑Architected solutions in distributed systems and cloud architectures.
* Strong technical foundation in cloud architecture, data, AI/ML, and software development.
* Familiarity with modern architectures such as microservices, serverless, and event‑driven systems.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working with AWS technologies from a DevOps perspective.
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
* Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) designing, building, and deploying production workloads.
* Hands‑on experience building or prototyping cloud, data, or AI/ML solutions.
* Experience designing or implementing AI/ML solutions, including Generative AI and Agentic applications.
* Experience presenting to a range of audiences, including developers, technical leaders, and business stakeholders.
* Experience with scripting, automation, or software development in languages such as Python or JavaScript.

Compensation & Benefits
The base salary range for this position is 115,100.00 – 166,900.00 CAD annually. As a total compensation company, Amazon may include other elements such as sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is determined by experience, qualifications, and location. Benefits include health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life & AD&D), Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), paid time off, and other resources to improve well‑being.
