As an Electrical Engineer of the Sustaining Engineering team in the GI Reprocessing RD department, you perform a wide range of electrical engineering duties and project assignments of existing products. You report to the engineering team manager and have responsibility for analyzing, improving, developing and documenting designs related to electrical systems of our capital equipment manufactured in Pomezia. This includes the electronic hardware of the control system, sensors, actuators, electromechanical interfaces, compliance with machine specifications and compliance with applicable electrical standards. Therefore, you must be able to solve machine control problems by applying knowledge of electrical engineering principles to accomplish technical challenges. /p h3Duties /h3 ul liUses electrical engineering principles in the selection of sensors, actuators, solenoids, motors, valves, process instrumentation and associated controls needed to meet machine control solutions. /li liInteracts cross functional collaboration to achieve good design, including external contact to suppliers and other engineering disciplines like Mechanical Engineering and Control Systems/Software team. /li liPlanning, coordinating and carry out feasibility tests, verification, validation (inhouse and in external Laboratories) and create technical documentation of the development according to medical standards. /li liPerforms fault mode and root cause analyses to provide the basis for establishing solutions. /li liConfirms electrical system's and component's capabilities and quality by designing testing methods and evaluating properties. /li liProvides electrical guidance to project designers and technicians in their assignments. /li /ul h3Education Degree /h3 pBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics /p h3Required Experience Competencies /h3 ul liExperience in the control of systems with the selection of sensors and actuators. /li liPractical knowledge of electromechanical laboratory equipment, such as measuring instruments, laboratory sensors, data loggers and oscilloscopes. /li liAbility to use ECAD and PLM Systems especially EPLAN and Windchill. /li liBasic understanding of electro mechanical and fluid mechanical systems. /li liExhibits a working knowledge of applicable regulations and standards, specifically IEC 61010-1 for electrical safety compliance and the various EMC procedures per IEC 61326-1 for FCC/CE certification. /li liExperience in root cause analysis, risk assessment and FEMA. /li liEngineering in regulated environment. /li liTheoretical and practical work. /li liWorking knowledge of electrical systems, electrical troubleshooting, and electrical testing design. /li liStrong communication and problem solving skills. /li liPassion in realizing and implementing. /li liOrganizational, communication, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills. /li liEnglish skills minimum on level B1. /li /ul h3Equal Opportunity Statement /h3 pSTERIS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
