Lidl Italia SRL in Arcole seeks a Junior IT Retail Support Specialist to join its IT team. The role covers technical support across multiple retail stores in Italy and Malta.
Introduction
As part of Lidl Italia’s multinational IT team, you will be the key technological point of reference for our retail network, working closely with colleagues from the German headquarters and other 30 countries in the group. The IT environment requires constant availability – any downtime in point‑of‑sale or back‑office systems directly affects customers. Cybersecurity and business continuity are central to the work.
The mission is to proactively support stores with technology, adapt Enterprise applications to local market needs, and apply ITIL practices daily. The Retail Support team plays a crucial role in empowering frontline colleagues and driving technological innovation.
Position
Embedded in the IT Service & Support Store team, you will serve as the primary support for systems and applications used in hundreds of branches across Italy and Malta. As a Junior Specialist, your role transcends basic assistance; you will be a technical consultant guiding the digital evolution of each store.
Responsibilities
Second‑level IT support: handle complex issues with POS, back‑office, inventory systems that first‑level support cannot resolve.
Advanced troubleshooting: conduct in‑depth technical analysis and collaborate with internal and international specialists for bug resolution (Problem Management).
Project support: actively participate in rollout of new applications and hardware, providing technical assistance during pilot and large‑scale implementation.
Trend analysis and optimization: review notification trends from branches, identify automation opportunities, and create technical documentation for branch staff (Knowledge Base).
Retail operations monitoring: ensure proper functioning of interfaces between POS and central systems using enterprise‑level monitoring tools, maintain SLA compliance, and manage escalations.
Profile Sought
You are the right fit if you possess:
Education: Diploma in informatics or a degree in Computer Science.
Technical skills: solid knowledge of Windows, Linux, and networking; experience scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Google Apps Script) is a plus.
Languages: B2 level English for international meetings.
Analytical mindset: root cause analysis orientation – you seek to understand why a service fails rather than just restarting it.
Soft skills: excellent communication with non‑technical users (store staff) and international technical employees; remain calm under critical incidents.
Offer
12‑month fixed‑term contract.
Smart working: up to 2 days a week, combined within a month.
Annual talent management process for your development.
Structured onboarding program based on on‑the‑job training and support from senior colleagues.
Young, dynamic, and stimulating work environment certified as Top Employer.
CSR program “Sulla via del domani” and corporate wellness benefits.
Gym access, laundry services, and colleagues break lounge.
Additional welfare benefits as per company policy. xjrgpwk
