Specialista Senior / Project Manager Overview Waters is seeking a Sales Application Chemist to join the team in Milan As a member of the Support and Application Specialist Group of the Southern Europe Region, your primary responsibilities will include on-site pre-sales support, conducting demonstrations, sample analysis, and presentations of our technological solutions to customers as part of their purchasing process. You will also deliver customer training and post-sales application support. Responsibilities Drive product demonstrations: Provide information on correct use, features, functionality, and applications of instruments and software, mainly covering UPLC chromatographic systems with optical detections or mass spectrometers. Application optimization: Collaborate with customers and internal teams to customize applications, troubleshoot, develop methods, and interpret data. Customer trainings: Conduct training on hardware, software, and applications at customer sites or Waters demo labs. Technical Presentations: Deliver presentations showcasing capabilities and benefits of solutions, effectively communicating complex scientific concepts. Foster Collaboration: Work with marketing, sales, and service teams to support demonstration and training processes. Scientific Support: Stay updated on scientific publications, methodologies, and regulations. Provide scientific advice and identify improvement opportunities. This role reports to the Southern Europe instrument sales team, focusing on understanding business challenges and contributing to subsidiary objectives. The activity involves working between the Milan applications laboratory and customer visits for testing, setup, or training. It requires travel within your territory and occasionally to other countries. A valid passport and a clean driving license are required. Qualifications Education: Master’s degree or PhD in analytical chemistry or biochemistry. Experience: Hands-on experience in liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry, expertise in separation technologies, method development, project management, and customer interaction. Exposure to relevant industries such as Food & Environment, Pharma, Biopharma, or Chemical materials. Knowledge: Proficiency in Empower, Masslynx, Waters_connect, and Office Suite; fluency in English; knowledge of additional European languages (preferably Spanish or French) is a plus; familiarity with CRM (preferably Salesforce).
