The Amazon Business User Experience team champions the business customer in the Amazon Marketplace and supports procurement elements for Amazon Business customers. Areas that a Senior UX Designer in the AB team will support include partnering with cross‐functional stakeholders to deliver customer‐centric solutions for admins involved in business procurement for all sizes of businesses. You will work with the foundational services team to enhance the account management tools in the account configuration and analytics space.
Senior UX Designers in this organization work on tactical and strategic initiatives. They determine strategy, decide where to simplify or extend solutions for the best outcome, and drive the use of best practices. This role operates autonomously, partnering with product stakeholders from the enterprise account management team to research, define requirements, and realize solutions for complex problems across the end‐to‐end account admin experience. They are instrumental in defining agentic experiences leveraging the latest AI technologies.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Senior UX Designer facilitates processes where there is ambiguity in product strategy, product requirements, and technical feasibility. They pull insights, guide product stakeholders into design exercises, shape and prioritize user stories before designing solutions, and recognize risks to effectively communicate and elevate issues that may impact the customer experience. They generate design documents that communicate recommendations, limitations, trade‐offs, and product direction to leaders across the organization. They articulate potential consequences of short‐term solutions that could negatively impact customers and propose optimal long‐term solutions that simplify for greatest impact. They help inform and shape product roadmaps, business goals, objectives, and metrics that add customer value.
A Day in the Life
The Senior UX Designer is a vocal advocate for the customer, working on multiple initiatives concurrently. They act as an ambassador for best practices, stay on top of impactful trends, and continue to innovate on released features. Their high‐visibility teamwork includes pulling stakeholders together, critiquing, providing design feedback, conducting retrospectives, and research that influences engineering decisions to enable optimal solutions for customers.
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of UX designer or interaction designer experience
- Online portfolio or samples of work on resume, demonstrating experience creating end‐to‐end, user‐centered design solutions and patterns, across desktop and mobile devices
- Experience delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity
- Experience working with stakeholders to plan and execute strategic programs
- Experience using customer insights and data to deeply understand target customers and delve deep into their needs
- Experience with a variety of design, wire‐framing, and prototyping tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience applying scrum to visual or UX design processes
- Master's degree or equivalent in design, human‐computer interaction (HCI), or related field
- Experience in B2B, high‐tech products/services preferred
- Experience developing, deploying, and managing AI products at scale
