Job Description SummaryAs a Lead Supplier Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring supplier deliveries consistently meet all customer quality and regulatory requirements. Your responsibilities will include leading preventive enhancement initiatives to improve supplier manufacturing processes and actively contributing to sourcing and industrialization efforts to achieve the target of zero customer defects. The role also involves collaborating with sourcing and product engineering teams to conduct preventive assessments of design-to-manufacturing processes, ensuring that quality systems are adaptable and responsive to changing demand.Job DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesLead the organization in resolution of any customer quality concerns which may relate to supplier performanceMonitor customer score cards and plan preventive actions against disruptions triggered by suppliersPartner with supplier to anticipate volume evolution and changing landscape for quality requirements and improvementsProvide engineering support to supplier manufacturing process ensuring consistent application of quality techniques to resolve quality issues of capability, tolerancing and materialsLead supplier eligibility assessment, readiness review and surveillance audits, ensure early containment actions applyLead APQP (customer requirements flow down, FMEA, leverage lessons learnt, etc.) ensuring that PPAP are approved on-site when it is requiredPromote the use of Flight Deck tools across multidisciplinary teamsDevelop breakthrough process improvement strategies and implement them in collaboration with stakeholders through the application of Flight Deck principles, as Hoshin Kanri, driving Productivity on Product Cost and Service businessActive member of the Hoshin Kanri initiatives and lean development to strategic/critical suppliersHandle daily shop issues related to supplied parts by identification & containment of non-compliancesRegular daily metric management of Supplier Quality KPI’s thru standard workAttendance to production planning meetings to provide the status of supplier quality related constraints preventing product/process releaseLead with all the related stakeholders all problem-solving events to contain internal scraps and supplier escapes, find root cause and corrective action, make the risk assessment and standardize through Lesson Learnt/FMEAStop-off the production in the event of uncontained supplied off-spec partsGatekeeper for scrap assets, control and inventory related to supplier partsLead risk assessment (e.g. PFMEA, PQA, etc) to ensure compliance to product/process/system quality requirementsDetermine improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to sustain manufacturing processes to adhere to standard requirements and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity related to product, process or systemDeployment through Yokoten of Lessons Learnt from established successful preventive actionsQualifications/RequirementsMaster of Science in Engineering degreePrevious experience in quality assurance and control within a complex manufacturing environmentUnderstanding of mechanical processes and materials used in the aerospace industryFamiliarity with aerospace standards and customer-specific requirementsCertified auditor.Strong background in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)Proven Track Record in Quality Tools:PDCA/A3, Ishikawa diagram/3x5L Why, SIPOC/Process Flow Diagram/Process Flow Chart. Production Control Plan/FMEA, APQP/PPAP, SPC/Run Charts, MSAKnowledge of Manufacturing Processes:Complex assembly, Machining, Electronic assembly, Welding/Brazing, Sheet metal forming, Heat treatment/Thermal coatingWillingness to travel at least 50% of the timeFluency in English and ItalianWork Visa in accordance with local regulation is requiredDesired CharacteristicsFamiliarity with GE Quality Systems and Tools:eCAV, eNMS, SPS (or equivalent customer tools)Proficiency in GE Avio Aero IT Tools:APICE, SAP, Quarta EVOSkilled at persuading, motivating, and energizing others at all levels.Passionate, personable, self-confident, and likeableAble to flex style to direct, collaborate, or empower as the situation requires.Ability to establish a personal power base built on mutual trust, fairness, and honestyEstablish and maintain productive relationships and networks, utilizing them to facilitate business transactionsEffectively manage time and prioritize multiple competing tasks wiselyIdentify and solve problems, develop innovative solutions, act decisively, and demonstrate good judgmentAbility to think logically and methodicallyMaintain appropriate focus on short- and long-term goalsMotivated by achievement and persist until goals are reached, conveying a sense of urgencyAdditional InformationRelocation Assistance Provided: No
