Summary
Expediting & Inspection Engineer at Nidec Conversion.
The expeditor is crucial to ensuring smooth flow of orders placed with vendors and deliveries. Main tasks: managing schedules, coordinating orders and addressing any challenges related to possible delays.
The expeditor must possess exceptional organizational skills, effective communication abilities and meticulous attention to detail to uphold efficient operations.
Responsibilities
* Coordinating orders placed with vendors.
* Monitoring order status.
* Ensuring timely processing and delivery of orders.
* Communicating with vendors to resolve issues or delays.
* Collaborating with procurement and project management teams to meet deadlines.
* Providing regular reports and updates on order status.
* Witness shop inspection and testing of material and equipment as detailed in the ITP.
* Attend pre-inspection meetings / progress review meetings at supplier's workshop.
* Prepare and issue the Inspection Reports after each inspection visit.
* Check compliance of materials and equipment with purchase order requirements.
* Ensure all works undertaken are completed in accordance with the project specifications.
* Liaise with the requisitioning Engineer and Inspection & Expediting Manager as appropriate.
* Provide feedback on supplier / sub-supplier performance upon request.
* Report promptly to the Inspection & Expediting Coordinator on all inspection and testing matters.
Relationships
* External relationships: Vendors, Sub-vendors, Possibly Clients.
* Internal relationships: Procurement team, Project management team, Possibly Production team.
Travel Requirements
Travel in Italy (weekly) and Europe (a few times per month).
Education & Qualifications
Required Education, Qualifications, Experience and Languages
University Degree or Technical Diploma in Electrical Subjects. Degrees in technical subjects (E.G. Engineering) is considered a plus.
Experience
At least 5 years of experience as expeditor/inspector at other companies. Having worked for companies belonging to the industrial manufacturing sector (Oil and Gas, Refinery, Ammonia, etc.) is mandatory. Having worked for EPC (Engineering - Procurement - Construction) companies is considered a plus.
