Job Description
Johnson and Johnson Innovative Medicine (J&J IM), a pharmaceutical company of Johnson & Johnson, is recruiting for a Senior Manager – Strategy & Innovation, EMEA.
This position has a primary location of Madrid (ES), Warsaw (PL), Prague (CZ), Lisbon (PT), Milan (IT) or Maidenhead (UK). The position requires up to 20% travel.
Position Summary
You will support the Director to translate EMEA strategic priorities into operational routines, governance, and measurable outcomes across multiple Product Groups. You will also lead the development and execution of a multi‑year technology strategy that directly supports business priorities. Provide program management and product governance for strategic initiatives, manage vendor and pilot engagements, and drive cross‑functional stakeholder alignment across EMEA. Measure and report on adoption, ROI and operational impact while ensuring regulatory and data/privacy compliance; present concise strategic updates and recommendations to senior leadership.
Responsibilities
* Lead the development and execution of technology strategy aligned to business priorities.
* Drive adoption, tracking and regional/global alignment of the 3‑Year Strategy Plan and linkage to BP 2027.
* Provide PMO functions for strategic programs/leadership: planning, milestone management, risk/issues tracking, dependency management, status reporting and meeting cadences.
* Institutionalize Product Group governance: roadmaps, pipeline management, product boards and KPIs.
* Manage vendor selection, partnerships and pilot programs; negotiate scope and success criteria.
* Drive stakeholder alignment across business leaders, IT, data science, finance, legal and operations through effective communication and governance.
* Define success metrics and track ROI, adoption, and operational impact of deployed solutions.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality and data/privacy requirements relevant to pharmaceutical environments.
* Prepare and present concise updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
* Steer a two‑way Business Technology EMEA engagement platform to enhance communication in EMEA.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences or related field. Master’s degree (MBA, MSc) preferred.
* 8+ years of relevant experience in technology strategy, innovation, management consulting, corporate strategy, or PMO roles—ideally with exposure to life sciences / pharmaceuticals.
* Proven record leading end-to-end strategic technology projects and delivering measurable business outcomes.
* Demonstrated ability to operate as a PMO: project planning, resource management, budgets, status reporting, and risk mitigation.
* Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
* Strategic and analytical thinking; ability to synthesize complex inputs into clear recommendations.
* Familiarity with modern technology domains: cloud platforms, data analytics, AI/ML, digital platforms, automation (hands‑on understanding, not necessarily deep engineering).
* Change management and adoption planning skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present to senior leadership.
* Strong collaboration, influencing and negotiation skills.
* Attention to regulatory and data governance requirements in the pharmaceutical sector.
Preferred
* Experience operationalizing global–regional models and transferring consulting playbooks into sustained practices.
* Change management certification or demonstrable adoption outcomes.
