The position plays a key part in future business success by driving growth and expanding the company's leading position. Key responsibilities include ensuring the highest possible quality of input into significant requests for proposals (RFPs), including development strategy, regulatory issues, and team education on indication. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for supporting outstanding input into other areas of business activity, such as proactive client engagement, strategic alliance development, and client governance or advisory boards.
A supporting role in the Rare Disease strategy team involves championing business development by creating focused solutions for client companies. This includes identifying strategic client opportunities, client pipeline analysis, and identifying investigational product opportunities. The post holder will also evaluate and integrate PPD's service offerings, such as Phase 1 first-in-human testing capabilities, clinical trial operations expertise, and laboratory capabilities.
The role requires providing therapeutic and developmental expertise to internal teams, including indication-specific training for clinical teams, guidance during clinical trial execution, and review and evaluation of clinical data. The post holder will also contribute to design and reporting of feasibility studies, liaise with investigators and KOLs, and mentor and supervise TA clinical scientists.
The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background, preferably with an MD or equivalent, and minimum 10 years of post-education experience in clinical and/or research settings. They should also have a minimum of 5 years of global HemOnc development experience and 3 years in a leadership role within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or CRO industry. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
