Our client, a leading global provider of marine transportation, is looking for a Senior Accountant.He/She will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and finance function within the Accounting Team and hierarchically report to the Accounts Receivables Manager.Main responsibilities
1. Update client information.
2. Manage timely collation of billing information- on-hire and off-hire timings and bunker consumption and maintenance days.
3. Issue sales invoices, debit notes and credit notes.
4. To accrue for unbilled revenue, unearned revenue and Withholding Tax
5. To analyze the revenue variances between Actual vs Forecast
6. Liaise with clients and resolve billing queries from clients and billing disputes with clients.
7. Generate customers’ statements of accounts and prepare weekly dispute lists with clients
8. Follow up with clients on late payments
9. Any other duties as instructed by the management.
Knowledge, skills and Abilities
The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Finance or equivalent. At least three years of relevant accounting and finance experience. In particular, a previous experience in the shipping & logistics industry is preferable. Interpersonal skills
10. Strong understanding of accounting principles
Meticulous and careful, hardworking and able to meet tight deadlines
11. Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
12. Excellent verbal and written communication and reporting skills in English and Italian are essential
