ING Hubs Romania offers 130 services in software development, data management, non-financial risk & compliance, audit, and retail operations to 24 ING units worldwide, with the help of over 2000 high-performing engineers, risk, and operations professionals.

We started out in 2015 as ING’s software development hub, then steadily expanded our range to include more services and competencies. Now we provide borderless services with bank-wide capabilities and operate from two locations: Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca.

The Mission
\n
As part of the development towards a “Next Generation Digital Banking Platform”, ING is renewing the data management capabilities globally. The Tribe Data Management realizes an integrated data management platform for the Dutch and Belgian organizations. Our day-to-day work means collaborating with colleagues from those countries.
\n
Your day to day
\n
As a senior data engineer in a digital product team, you are expected to do:
\n
\n
- Develop ETL flows in IBM Infosphere Datastage based on functional requirements coming from the business teams
\n
- Analyze data, design and build physical models at the various stages of the data pipeline: ingestion of data sources, mapping in data warehouse and creating data marts for consumption
\n
- Lead the delivery of coding while meeting quality criteria and project constraints. Explore and try different methods to improve productivity of the team. Meet service levels for systems (availability, security, and performance)
\n
- Identify and reduce technical debt and be able to work alone or with others as needs dictate and take ownership of all the assigned tasks
\n
- Manage data using Oracle Exadata as main database, following performance standards
\n
- Handle end-to-end deployment by using GIT and Microsoft Azure Devops to build the packages and migrate the code to the appropriate environments
\n
- Can liaise with a broad range of people, including line management, senior management, product Leads and related people.
\n
- Keep the operational controls, which are part of the risk appetite of the bank.
\n
- Participating in Agile Scrum ceremonies
\n
- Collaborate actively within the team and among departments with other DevOps engineers, Business Analysts
\n

What you’ll bring to the team
\n
Experience: 5+ years in data management
\n
Tech stack/ knowledge:
\n
\n
- Strong experience withETL processes and tools
\n
- Strong experience withData Warehouse concepts
\n
- Proficiency in SQL and database concepts
\n
- Experience withLinux operating system
\n
- Experience withBusiness Intelligence tools
\n
- Willingness to learn and experiment with new technologies
\n
- Enthusiastic personality, enjoying working in a multi-cultural environment
\n
- Good collaboration and communication in the team
\n
\n
Foreign languages: English (advanced)
\n
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in an IT related field
