People Development Manager

This position plays a key role within the corporate HR structure, contributing directly to talent development, performance management, and employee engagement strategies on a global scale.
The role reports to the Chief People Officer and leads a team of two.
The ideal candidate will combine strategic vision and operational ability to design and implement impactful people development initiatives, in close partnership with business leaders and HR counterparts across regions. This position is instrumental in building a future-ready workforce and reinforcing a culture of high performance and continuous growth.
Main Areas of Responsibility
Talent & Development Strategy
* Shape a long-term development framework aligned with the company's strategic goals and HR priorities.
* Identify capability gaps and emerging skill needs across business units.
* Define, prioritize, and activate development plans for critical roles and future capabilities.
Program Design & Execution
* Create and deliver learning initiatives through diverse formats (face-to-face, digital, blended), supporting business performance and career progression.
* Coordinate programs related to onboarding, leadership development, reskilling/upskilling, and career mobility.
* Manage vendor partnerships and oversee external consultants involved in training delivery.
Performance Enablement & Continuous Feedback
* Oversee the evolution of the company's performance management processes, with a focus on quality, consistency, and fairness.
* Equip managers with tools and guidance for effective goal setting and feedback culture.
* Drive alignment and transparency in evaluation mechanisms.
Engagement & Employee Experience
* Co-develop engagement strategies with senior HR and business leaders.
* Track employee sentiment through surveys, feedback tools, and listening initiatives.
* Propose and lead initiatives aimed at reinforcing employee well-being, purpose, and cultural connection.
Future Skill Planning & Capability Mapping
* Anticipate strategic roles and skills crucial for business growth and transformation.
* Design targeted learning interventions to build internal talent pipelines.
* Support succession planning and workforce strategies from a skills perspective.
Stakeholder Advisory & Collaboration
* Act as a trusted advisor to functional leaders and HRBPs on learning, performance, and engagement topics.
* Translate business needs into concrete, value-adding people development solutions.
Measurement & Impact Reporting
* Evaluate the effectiveness of programs through KPIs, feedback, and business performance indicators.
* Provide regular updates and strategic insight to the Chief People Officer and relevant stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
* University degree in HR, Psychology, Learning & Development, or related disciplines (Master's preferred).
* Fluency in English and Italian.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in people development, performance management, or employee engagement roles.
* Strong background in building and managing performance frameworks.
* Proven ability to assess capability needs and design upskilling/reskilling paths.
* Team leadership experience and ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
* Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience with LMS platforms, performance tools, and engagement systems.
* Familiarity with international environments and matrix organizations (EMEA, APAC, Americas).
* Strategic mindset combined with pragmatic execution.
* Genuine passion for developing people and fostering a growth culture.
* Analytical thinking and confidence in using data to drive HR initiatives.
