Responsibilities
The Mechanical Designer operates in the technical area, in the field of machines design. He/she designs the machines according to the contract requirements and Company standards in respect of time, cost and quality. The Mechanical Designer is responsible for the standardization and innovation of the assigned machines.
Principal Responsibilities:
Follow the assigned design activities, ensuring the achievement of the following objectives:
* Innovation and continuous technical improvement.Correct sizing of the machines.
* Containment of the number of Non-Conformities.
* Optimization of engineering costs and times.
Ensure the competitiveness of the machines through:
* Rationalization of design, detail quality, consumption, durability, and maintainability of the machines.
* Monitoring the performance of the machines in operation.
* Support to the relevant department in drafting the technical specifications to be provided to the Purchasing Office.
Ensure customer satisfaction through:
* Adequate support to the technical-commercial office in technical discussions with the customer.
* Effective coordination with the technology office to define the feasibility process and execution methods of machines and plants.
* Effective coordination with the Project Manager in team-up with Production, Purchasing Office, Logistics, and Commissioning to respect the project Time Schedule.
Technical Requirements
* Engineering/technical degree or high school diploma (mechanical or aeronautical);
* Good knowledge of English;
* At least 3 years of experience, preferably in steel plant design, equipment design, and project development.
* Mechanical design.
* Familiarity with multidisciplinary design environments (Hydraulic, Civil, and Electrical/Automation).
* Excellent knowledge of 3D modeling software Inventor
* Basic knowledge of finite element analysis software
