Role Summary
* Start Date: Negotiable, as soon as possible
* Promote an inclusive ethos supporting all students
* Lead the strategic development of EAL provision within the school
* Support individual pupils with EAL needs
* Provide guidance to staff, collaborate with parents and external agencies for optimal support
* Train teachers in effective language acquisition strategies
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with curriculum and assessment standards, differentiating to support all learners
* Assess student progress regularly, providing targeted feedback
* Create a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages risk-taking in learning
* Collaborate with colleagues and share best practices
* Contribute to co-curricular activities and broader school initiatives
* Maintain open communication with parents to support student development
* Mentor and develop staff, fostering a collaborative professional environment
* Lead the department strategically, managing resources effectively
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Enhanced DBS or equivalent, with a commitment to child welfare
* Experience teaching English to primary and Key Stage 3 students
* Proficient with ICT in teaching
* High expectations and aspirations for students
* Dedicated to the holistic development of young people
* Open-minded, eager to learn and develop professionally
* Passionate about teaching with a proven track record
* Experience in high-performing international schools is advantageous
