Job Description:
Telespazio is a joint venture between Leonardo (67%) and Thales (33%) and one of the world’s biggest suppliers of satellite solutions and services. The company teams up with Thales Alenia Space to form the parent companies’ Space Alliance, a strategic partnership which offers a complete range of space services. Founded in Italy in 1961, Telespazio is based in Rome and counts more than 3000 employees through its various subsidiaries and joint ventures.
The position proposed is related on technical activity in the field of Satellite Telecommunication for the design, implementation, and management of global Satellite Telecommunication networks where the following is required:
1. Degree in computer/telecommunications engineering
2. At least 2 years of work experience in the Satellite Telecommunication field
3. English (Level B2) written and spoken
4. Good knowledge of TCP/IP and UDP/IP protocols
Mission
Design, implementation and management of global Satellite Telecommunication network including optimization of space segment resources.
Technical support to the commercial area with drafting of customer requirements and design specifications.
Scouting of solutions and products for Satellite Telecommunication.
Knowledge Responsible for:
5. Satellite access technologies (DVB-S2/TDMA/SCPC)
6. Link Budget Analysis for systems in GEO orbit (knowledge of modulation techniques and processes/elements in the end-to-end link)
7. SAT baseband technologies (iDirect, Hughes, Comtech, Newtec and Cobham)
8. Master and VSAT antenna system technology
Activities
9. Evolutionary design of satellite network infrastructures.
10. Configuration of Satellite network devices.
11. Design and drafting of network architecture documentation and technical note
12. Use of Office package (in particular Excel) + Python (basic) for task optimization.
13. Multi-tasking activity management with priority definition and process tracking
14. Analysis and Troubleshooting on network-related issues on satellite networks.
15. Configuration and management of monitoring systems.
