At our Product Company in Robassomero, we assemble hundreds of air compressors daily using tens of thousands of components sourced globally. To ensure smooth operations, we rely on timely, high-quality, cost-effective supplies. That’s why sourcing is a strategic pillar of our business.
We are looking for a Puchasing Team Leader to lead a team of buyers and specialists, optimize procurement processes, and drive performance across cost, quality, delivery, and sustainability.
Key Responsabilities
1. Lead and develop a purchasing team (currently 8 members).
2. Translate strategic goals into actionable team objectives.
3. Monitor and assess team performance based on Atlas Copco’s cultural behaviors.
4. Achieve KPIs in sustainability, total cost of ownership (TCO), delivery, quality, and financials.
5. Simplify supply chains, rationalize supplier base, and standardize components.
6. Drive innovation and challenge the status quo.
7. Manage global suppliers and support new projects.
8. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms.
9. Support IT system integration and cross-functional process alignment.
10. Shift team focus from administrative tasks to value-added activities.
Operational Focus
11. Analyze product specifications to define sourcing strategies.
12. Ensure procurement aligns with forecasts, service plans, and new product development.
13. Develop suppliers to meet evolving standards and regulations.
14. Build a vendor network delivering defect-free components at competitive prices.
15. Evaluate suppliers using Atlas Copco standards (financial, technical, quality, logistics, cost).
16. Lead projects to improve profitability, quality, and time-to-market.
To succeed, you will need
17. Strong experience in sourcing within manufacturing.
18. Strong expertise in procurement and supplier management.
19. Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills.
20. Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
21. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
22. Bonus: Experience with SharePoint, PowerBI, PowerAutomate, Project.
23. Bonus: Knowledge of compressor industry and legacy systems (AS, SAP/MM).
24. Excellent knowledge of english language both written and verbal.
