We are looking for a Direttore di Macchina/Chief Engineer. Client Details Multinational company operating in the Oil & Gas industry. Description Responsibilities: Manage technically a fleet of vessels, ensuring safety and efficiency on board. Support vessels by developing and maintaining procedures and instructions. Conduct regular visits and internal technical audits. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance cost-effectively. Oversee repairs and dry dockings per maintenance plans. Prepare and monitor the technical budget. Coordinate with purchasing to source goods and services at the lowest cost and high quality standards. Handle damage claims and liaise with insurance companies for settlements. Ensure compliance with port state control and vetting inspections. Maintain vessel documentation and databases accurately. You will work with a Crewing Officer and a Purchaser, reporting to the Regional Technical Manager. Candidate Profile Higher Nautical or Technical Education diploma. At least 2-3 years of relevant experience as Chief Engineer/First Engineer or in ship repair/management. Strong planning and problem-solving skills. Willing to travel frequently and work under pressure. Knowledge of the Italian flag and administration system is advantageous.
