Job Description:
Role Summary: The Operations Manager handles day-to-day operations at the hotel, represents the hotel owners, manages staff, and oversees the front office. The ideal candidate is an experienced Operations Manager in a luxury hospitality environment, fluent in English and Italian, a self-starter with a hands-on attitude, and has great attention to detail.
Core Responsibilities:
* Overseeing all departments and a team of 32 staff
* Constant quality control
* Problem management
* Overseeing purchasing and administration
* Setting and improving standards
Operations:
* Oversee day-to-day operations
* Liaise constantly with department managers
* Resolve issues proactively with a hands-on approach
* Maintain guest focus
* Be ready to take on duty shifts when required
Guest Relations:
* Engage actively with guests, ensure their well-being, and promote in-house activities
* Solve problems independently and swiftly
Owner Relations:
* Report efficiently to the hotel owners, who live onsite
* Represent the owners' values and vision to the team, suppliers, partners, guests, and media
* Participate as part of the "managing team" of the property
HR:
* Plan and recruit staff with owners
* Manage staff planning and management
* Ensure staff adherence to house rules
* Serve as the first contact for department heads
Operational Excellence and Quality:
* Monitor guest areas and ensure proper setup
* Oversee service delivery and process improvements
Front Office:
* Coordinate with the front office manager
* Ensure quick responses to requests, quality control of bookings and emails
* Assist with check-in/out as needed
Purchasing:
* Manage stock of non-food materials
* Handle purchases, cost control, and inventory
Budgeting and KPI Analysis:
* Manage the budget and monitor KPIs
Additional Details:
* This is a full-time position, with 6-day work during the season (March-November) and 3-4 days during the off-season
* Housing allowance and permanent contract offered
* Travel may be required for trade shows, sales trips, media events
* Half of the work involves guest interaction and property oversight; full immersion in daily operations is essential
