•Carry out auto-electrical repairs and maintenance on Earthmoving Equipment in workshops or on customer sites.
•Trouble shoot, nalyse and find root cause failures on electric and electronic components.
•Remove, repair and install auto electrical components
•Upgrade system files and do download on electronic systems
•Install, calibrate and test support systems on machines
•Maintain professional image when representing BWE on customer site
•Quickly and efficiently deal with all customer auto electrical breakdowns
•Do non-electrical and air-conditioning maintenance and repairs on Earthmoving machines
•Compile accurate customer service reports
•Effective self-management and performance ownership
•Control own admin (labour booking, service reports, part returns, expenses etc.)
•Maintain field service vehicle and equipment
•Transfer knowledge to colleagues
•Comply with Company and customer safe work practices
•Comply with Contamination Control requirements
Qualification, Experience and Competencies
•Grade 12 or equivalent
•Qualified in relevant trade (Auto-Electrician);
•Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience on electric and electronic systems on Caterpillar machines
•Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in electrical and electronic systems
•Caterpillar machine specific technical knowledge and skills
•Good understanding of Caterpillar electrical and electronic systems
•Experience in air conditioning maintenance and repairs
•Applicable attachments product operation knowledge
•Knowledge and/or exposure to ISO quality systems.
•Good technical report writing skills
•Good computer literacy (SIS, STW & ET) knowledge.
•Drivers licence – Code B.
