OverviewIn this role you will support JRC's nuclear decommissioning programme by managing radioactive waste workflows and ensuring regulatory alignment. You will coordinate waste classification, treatment, storage and disposal planning, while partnering with multidisciplinary teams and external suppliers. Your work enables safe, compliant decommissioning across European sites, contributing to waste information systems, documentation and governance. This is a client‐facing, on‐site opportunity that emphasizes safety, integrity and collaborative problem solving in a high‐stakes environment. You will join a cross‐organizational effort within a JV delivering critical support to the European Commission'sResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement radioactive waste management strategies (classification, characterization, inventory, treatment, conditioning, storage, disposal)Provide technical support to waste activities (supervision of retrieval, treatment, conditioning; assess facilities and processes)Prepare and review technical documents (WMPs, WACs, compliance docs, inventory records)Contribute to waste tracking and data management (inventories, reporting tools)Coordinate interfaces with decommissioning, radiation protection, licensing and regulatory teamsEnsure compliance with national and European regulations and site license conditionsSupport programme reporting and governance (KPIs, risk management, technical reviews)Operate in a multi‐stakeholder setting (client, JV partners, subcontractors)QualificationsExperience in radioactive waste management or related nuclear fieldExperience in regulated environmentsWaste classification, characterization and treatment knowledgeUnderstanding of waste conditioning, storage and disposal routesRegulatory framework awareness for radioactive waste managementExperience with technical documentation and reportingAbility to work in multidisciplinary teamsRelevant degree or equivalent experienceOn‐site work capability in Ispra, Lombardy, ItalyEnglish proficiency minimum B2
